In recent years there has been an increasing interest in phrasal verbs (also known as particle verbs or verb-particle constructions) in Italian and Italian dialects.
These verbal constructions are quite common in Germanic languages and have been the subject matter of several synchronic and diachronic studies. Quite to the contrary, their presence seems to be rather limited in Romance languages. However, contributions such as Christoph Schwarze (1985) («Uscire» e «andare fuori»: struttura sintattica e semantica lessicale) and Raffaele Simone (1996, 1997) (Esistono verbi sintagmatici in italiano?) shed new light on the topic and encouraged a number of studies on phrasal verbs in Italian and Italian dialects.
The purpose of this website is to function as an information resource for those who want to study this topic.
One part of the website is dedicated to the creation of an essential bibliography that includes studies on phrasal verbs in Italian and in Romance languages in general, as well as other useful references.
The section events contains information on conferences or other events on phrasal verbs of interest.
